The Angel in this story is a Spirit Angel, a servant of His Father, and a radiant energy whose purpose was to warm the souls of those on Earth. What an honor to be selected to visit Earth. During the planning for his big visit, he knew that the role he was destined to play was going to refine him in ways that seemed unimaginable, and the visit was going to require so many things. He worked with father and agreed to play the role, regardless of the intensity. His roles, just to name a few: Brother; Son; Father; Husband; Employee; Guardian; Laughter Creator; Tear Shedder; Provider; Protector; Trainer; Student; and the list of “things” went on.
The Agreement.
“How long will he last?”, the son whimsically questioned the father. “How long will he last down there – until he remembers the path and his purpose for visiting?”
The father, with all his majesty quickly professed, “He committed to reconnecting and remembering within 53 earthly years!” They both smiled at each other.
The father and angel planned for 76 learning and growing years – 76 years to remember the reasons he descended to be with those on Earth.
The father looked lovingly at the angel and sought recommitment, “You understand, don’t you?” – he continued, “If you plan on reconnecting and remembering our agreed upon path home and you think you’ll reconnect 23 years earlier than planned?” He continued, “You’re going to experience an exhaustion that cannot be understood here.”
The father’s loving gaze had a way of slicing into souls and with one look, he reminded the angel, “We agreed to a total visit time of 88 years on the planet – 76 of them filled with learning, growth, and plenty of struggle, and 12 years of health and strength, so you could enjoy your final moments with them.”
The angel’s brother chimed in with challenge, “You’re choosing to amplify the learning, the growth, and the struggle. Condensing your learning and growth time into 53 years, so you can have 35 years of celebration? That’s bold, Brother.”
The Smile.
The angel had a smile that sounded bells, created warmth, and was a catalyst for generating confidence. His smile, and gentle nod of confirmation was followed with a quiet and calm, “I trust us, it’s time to go, isn’t it?”
Off he went. His time on Earth began and he tried it all. Thirty-five roles and each came with its own burden, its own learning, its own growth and memories & experiences. So many experiences. What was intended to be 76 years of growth and 12 years of relaxation was condensed into 52 years and it was more intense than they could have imagined – they weren’t sure if he was going to survive. Don’t forget – The angel didn’t remember why he was on the planet, which was his adventure – the search for rediscovery of his father’s purpose. One foot after the other, The angel continued learning and growing and his brother and father smiled down from above.
His Persistence.
The angel’s brother had visited once before, for very different reasons, so he knew (all too well) how they might treat him, and this motivated him to keep close (even if his brother seemed to fight all the methods deployed to connect with him). The angel’s brother was visiting with their father, and he shared, “He keeps asking me about being tired and it hurts my heart.” Father quickly engaged, “I know he does – I hear him too. What have you told him?”
In his darkest times, I’ve whispered “Not Yet”, when he considered coming back home. “I’ve shouted, KEEP GOING, as he stretched himself so incredibly thin, and I’ve made sure to remind him how much he’s accomplished, even though he’s not very good at listening to us.”
The father chuckled, “I’ve been fascinated by this visit, and I’m pleased. He breaks, he learns, he grows, he repeats.” The father and son were in awe at the persistence the angel showed, and their hearts ached as they knew he felt alone more often than he ever needed to.
“Trying to expedite your original plan is futile, isn’t father?”
“I’d typically say, YES, and yet, this angel of ours is 52 earth years into his visit- and he might just pull this off.”
“What will happen when he succeeds?” The son asked with deep curiosity.
“A new plan can be created and if he learns to reconnect in this next year, he will be able to lift even more souls than we intended with the original plan.”
“Son.” “He’s going to need you more than ever.”
“I’ll stay with him, father.”
“I know you will, son – you both have my love.”
As the father shared a loving embrace with his son, they could hear the call,
“I have to run, father – he’s calling again.”
The angel had to forget – that was part of the agreement. Not remembering his angelic and celestial past, created the need for faith and hope, so he leaned in on both and cried out in prayer. Gratitude was shared. Excitement about experiences was shared. And he also shared his hurt and his pain – he shared his anxiety, stress, and tension and he shared the beautiful decisions as well as the rotten ones. The angel was certain of only one thing, he didn’t know what the hell he was doing on the planet he was visiting.
His brother was always with him, so with a soft whisper, like the breeze that brushed against The angel’s face during summers on the shore of his favorite body of water, The angel heard, “New paths can form”.
Was he hearing things? Was this intuition? Was someone with him? The Angel heard the whisper while writing. He heard it while using this sacred Journal, which was one of the few things that made him feel like someone was listening. The angel’s eyes filled with tears, he smiled in the way only he could, and for just a moment, he remembered. He remembered that this life he was living was a plan not of this planet. He had the most intense feeling that family, specifically a brother, was with him, so he did what came naturally - he showed gratitude, wiped his eyes, and closed his journal.
New paths to follow, new paths to build, people to inspire, he couldn’t stop now.
What a joy, if even for a minute, to remember how he is never alone.
God bless all of you- and may He send peace to you during your times on this planet.
Much love- Trav
